$4500 for a Traction Avant! If it’s not too rough, this would be one amazing car for the money!

Needs a re-spray, as I can’t see the weird burgundy and gray combo being original, but it looks complete, if a little rough!

Ah, George! I had actually emailed him a few years ago to talk about importing 2CVs when I was still in university! I’m also subscribed to the Citroen Autoclub Canada newsletter! :) If he ever has any 2CVs to give away, let me know! :P

Hell, knowing George being the godfather of Citroen in Canada, I’m guessing he probably might even know this Traction already, but by all means let him know!

Also, saw this this beauty in the local Canadian Tire parking lot the other day! (Pardon the flipphone quality!) Same one I saw last year on my birthday - ANY Citroen is EXTREMELY uncommon here in Nova Scotia, this is only like the 5th or so time I’ve seen one in my 30 years on Earth.

George is the real deal. Great guy. He’s selling a super nice 2CV but wants like $17k for it so I unno. I got to actually drive an SM and oh my god it is so amazing. Coolest thing ever.

There are a surprising number in Ontario and Quebec.....those are the Citroen hotspots in Canada. :)

Pretty well none have worked their way out west. A surprising number of British cars, but not many French.

Thats less than an hour from me, and it’s not out of my budget, and it’s a car I’ve always wanted...

What sort of PITA is it to import a car from Canada to the US?

edit: seller contacted... we’ll see what he says about rust and driveability...

The ad says “original and complete, perfect for restoration” so I’m guessing it runs (barely) and is rougher inside and out than the pictures suggest.

But it’s tempting!

But I don’t need a divorce, so it won’t be me.

I can’t imagine it’s much of a pain to import to the US - especially considering the car is older than 25 years. Hoping it turns out to be fairly rust-free and complete! :)

It’s definitely in a sorry state, but, yeah, those pictures don’t tell much of a story. Still, I’ve only ever seen one with the hatch on this side of the Atlantic, so that’s pretty damn cool. TA’s are not all that uncommon relatively, so I’d try and get a grand off the price if it’s not too far gone.
